Recruitment, Conversion and Admissions Officer, China

The position is responsible for professional and efficient coordination of all recruitment activities and project work for the Greater China source markets of prospective international students.

The International Recruitment Officer assists in the recruitment and promotional activities across assigned recruitment markets and provides advice to prospective students, families, agents, and staff of the university, and undertakes student recruitment activities.

This position will work closely with international recruitment, admissions, compliance, and student support team to achieve recruitment goals and load targets.

Maintain knowledge across a wide range of areas including:

• Relevant Australian and international legislation relating to education, Education systems, qualifications (including pathways), admission requirements, and cultures for designated countries within the region of responsibility.
• Accurate and up-to-date knowledge of Department of Home Affairs (DOHA) requirements relating to international students.
• Relevant knowledge about La Trobe University study options, specific admission requirements, and relevant internal policies and procedures particularly those relating to selection and admission of international students.

• Assist to coordinate student recruitment activities for designated markets and generate international student commencements in line with the university’s targets.
• Coordinate virtual recruitment events to promote the University and assist with the development of associated promotional marketing material.
• May represent the university at international recruitment fairs, educational institutions and exhibitions and conduct seminars and interview programs to recruit international students to the university and prepare written reports with recommendations.

• Ensure key contacts are accurately maintained in the University records and kept updated on the study information relating to La Trobe University.
• Assist other internal stakeholders including but not limited to international Admissions, Student Support, International Compliance, Education, and partnership team as and when required. 
• Assist with projects related to agent management and engagement under the broad direction of the Regional Director, China.
• Assist in maintaining the Agent database on Studylink, PRISM, and other related system databases.

• Make sure that all promotional and marketing materials are up-to-date and meet the company’s brand identity strategy for La Trobe portals including Agent HUB, Scholarship’s dashboard, and StudyLink. 
• Assist to Identify and resolve any issues with promotional content in a timely and professional manner.

• Ensure that all activities within the team, as well as those of agents and other partners, comply with all relevant Australian legislation including the ESOS Act, DIBP regulations, AVCC National Code, Privacy legislation, and relevant legislation of countries.

• An undergraduate degree in any area relevant to the position; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training,and/or experience,
• Demonstrative experience in using computer applications including databases, word processing, spreadsheets, and web technology,
• High level interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills coupled with cultural sensitivity and knowledge to be able to operate independently at high levels and toachieve desired outcomes in a variety of international and cultural contexts,
• Demonstrated customer service and relationship management experience across a diverse range of countries,
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders to achieve stated outcomes.

To hold this La Trobe University position the occupant must:

• Take personal accountability to comply with all University policies, procedures and legislative or regulatory obligations; including but not limited to TEQSA and the Higher Education Threshold Standards. 
• Have legal rights to live and work in the agreed location within China and ability to travel sporadically to Australia.
